I passed by Mixed Co a few weeks ago and took note to remember to go back. From the minute I walked into the salon, I was greeted by one of the owners and felt right at home. The space is unlike anything else in River North. Very open, relaxed, and welcoming.
I moved to Chicago just over four years ago and I have had the hardest time finding anyone that I trusted with my blonde highlights, nor anyone that understood what I wanted (and could actually make that happen). Patrick Ryan signed me up for balayage and a haircut with Julianne. I spent a good three+ hours in the salon, but after it was all said and done, I walked out with extremely healthy and gorgeous "Victoria Secret model" hair. I've received countless compliments and it's only been six hours since I left the salon.
The staff was very attentive, listened to what I wanted, and delivered. I would highly recommend Mixed Company for anyone looking for a change and ready to trust someone who cares and can produce the results you are looking for.
Can't wait to go back!

I've been going to Patrick for my color (specifically balayage which he specializes in) and Mohammed for haircuts for a couple of years. I am extremely particular about my hair and hard to please. I have been to my share of high end salons in Chicago in an effort to find someone who was great with highlight and lowlights and could make me happy!
Since finding Patrick and Mohammed... two hairstylists who are truely talented and will listen to what you want and go out of their way to make sure you leave happy, I naturally followed them to Mixed. It is a beautiful, relaxing and well-located space. The customer service is also fantastic.
I highly recommend this salon!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!! The whole experience is phenomenal!! The salon is so chic and sassy!! Customer service really couldn't get any better!! The owners have truly thought of everything before opening their doors!
I am the kind of person who HATES to get my hair cut...my blood pressure literally raises at the mere thought of it!! Julianne totally puts my mind at ease and transforms my once knotty mess into a sleek and manageable style! I get perfection every single time I'm in!!
Patrick Ryan does my hair color and can I just say....AMAZING!! I'm kind of conservative with my ideas of color but he keeps my look up to date and fun instead of "plain-jane" brown! I love to pick his brain on ideas and trust me, he has soooo many good suggestions! I have never been happier walking out of a salon!!
I am more than happy to make a trip to Mixed Co. Salon to know I will be treated so well and never disappointed!! I could not speak more highly of the salon and everyone who works there! If you have not yet tried them, DO IT!!! You will be thanking me later :)

I love, love, LOVE Mixed Co. Salon. I have been going to Julianne for a little over two years since she was at Maxine. Honestly, I do not trust anyone else with my hair. She listens to what you want and will also suggest what would look best on you if need be. I even recommended her to my friend since I have never walked out of there disappointed. She also goes to Patrick for color- he always does a great job.
Imagine my surprise when she told me she was starting a new salon with friends from Maxine. The space itself is GORGEOUS. It's really open and has a cool vibe to it. The staff, who I had not yet met, was warm,welcoming, really fun to talk to and made you feel at home. They also offered me champagne or wine while I waited. I kind of want to go back just to hang out...
Needless to say I highly recommend it!!!

Yes, this salon is pricey, but it is not overpriced for the caliber of service and skill you receive from the second you step foot in the door. Julianne is not only super talented, but s fun to talk to and listened to what I wanted and delivered. I have had a hard time finding a salon in Chicago and hope that this is my new hair home. Everyone at Mixed Co is so friendly, and I can't wait to go back and try Patrick for my color.
The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars, is that I always feel like after the second or third haircut is when you can tell if the place is for keeps. I have been to many places in Chicago where I loved my initial haircut but when I came back for a second (or 3rd or 4th) time I felt like my cut was rushed, sloppy, or that they didn't remember me from the last time I was there.
I will definitely be back!

FINALLY!!! I have found my salon.
I've been in Chicago for just over 5 years now and have hopped all around the city looking for somewhere I can call my salon home. The parking is easy, the decor is inviting, modern and warm, the service is uber-awesome (um, wine anyone? Next time I'm taking the train so I can partake).
Patrick is an artist. A balayage genius, if you will. I can't wait to go back and see more transformation. Bye-bye foils, you are so last century. Michelle did an awesome cut and took a lot of time on the perfect blow out. This coupled with a great scalp massage made me a happy girl.
